Description
The terrace over the room is one of the most difficult elements, both for the designer, and for the builder. In spite of the fact that its construction will increase expenses, on it is all the same it is worth being solved - the terrace diversifies monotony of building, and in summertime will become in addition used zone.
The terrace can be on a roof or the face of the building, in its acting part, and its basis at the same time is overlapping of the room which is below (rooms, garage). Therefore, it has the same structure, as flat roofs (most often it is reinforced concrete plates) and carries out the same function - the design of a terrace has to be dense and provide good thermal insulation.
The terrace differs from a flat roof only in an external covering, and the order of its layers depends on mission of the rooms located below (heated or which are not heated).
That the terrace well carried out all the functions and did not need continuous repair, all its potential loadings have to be provided and considered by designers.
Loadings divide on:
- constants - the design weight, finishing and insulating layers;
- variables - arising at operation (people, the equipment), snow and so forth.
