Description
The reserved site of Tsipov was stretched on ancient terraces of Dniester and in the valley of a stream of Tsipov, forming a canyon up to 200 m in depth in the lower current. Proceeding on gorges, the stream creates a set of the falls which are overthrown from height of 10-16 m.
The monastic complex of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Tsipov consists of two monasteries. The first, rocky, old construction, is cut in three tiers in the huge calcareous rock somewhere in XI-XIIVV. The second, later, is built in the 16-18th centuries. The rocky monastery which is successfully using natural caves and grottoes strikes with the amount and abundance of internal transitions and is one of the most considerable remained rocky complexes.
