The role of packing and container in trade and technological process is defined by functions which they carry out. These functions are reduced to the following: protection of a product from harmful action of the external environment, and also the external environment from harmful action of a product; it is sewn up a product from influence of other products; providing conditions for safety of quantity and property of products on all way of their movement from the sphere of production to the sphere of consumption; giving to goods and other freights of the necessary mobility and creation of conditions for mechanization of labor-consuming operations and more effective use of warehouse and floor spaces; creation of more favorable conditions for acceptance of products by quantity and quality and conveniences to their quantitative account; performance of a role of the carrier of commercial information and trade advertizing; introduction of a container not only as means for placement of a product, its transportation and storage, but also as means for the calculation and realization of products in a trading floor of shop (container equipment).
