Description
Signs of good hop: cones, or so-called color, have to be yellow-greenish color, or pinkish-red. Strongly green color means that hop immature — such for beer is unsuitable. Overripe has brown color which is also considered unsuitable for brewing. From bad storage on hop blackish veins appear — and such it is also unusable for the use.
Lupulin which is between scales or leaves of hop in the form of yellow dust is considered the main components of hop; the more lupulin, the it is more sound.
When grinding hop on a palm there has to be a green-yellowish pitch, with a pleasant smell. If it is not when grinding, hop is not suitable for brewing.
