A cylindrical laboratory cell for corrosion testing is used in the most simple tests to evaluate the protective effect of inhibitors by the linear polarization resistance method (LPR method in foreign terminology).
The cell has the following dimensions:
- Diameter 80 mm.
- Cell height 120 mm.
The cell is equipped with three fittings for purging and introducing an inhibitor and is usually supplied with a sensor for working with a corrosion meter.
Description of the workflow. An insulated magnet is placed at the bottom of the cell, the working medium is poured in, oxygen is blown out of the medium through the side outlets, and reagents are dosed during the experiment. The outlets of the cell are closed with rubber stoppers with glass or plastic tubes, on the ends of which pieces of a rubber hose with a laboratory clamp are put on. Reagents are injected using a syringe into the rubber hose of the middle side outlet. A rubber stopper No. 45 with a two - electrode electrochemical sensor is put on the upper neck of the cell.
The cell is made of special Pyrex laboratory glass. By special order, it is possible to manufacture a temperature - controlled cell with a water jacket.
