The FAG company (FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer AG, Schweinfurt, Germany) was founded in 1883 in Germany by Frederik Fischer who developed the special grinder for mass production of bearing precision spheres. After Frederik Fischer's death the enterprise was acquired by other producer of spheres — George Shafer then the name of the enterprise famous today appeared.
