Many years of everyone who decided to build the house both designers, and builders, and individual builders are tormented by the same question: How to make the house warm? How to reduce heatlosses? How to lower operational costs of heating or conditioning?

The solution of the problem of energy saving is possible only by means of application of system, complex measures. A special role in an energy balance of the building is played by translucent designs. Level of their heat-shielding concedes to a heat-shielding of wall designs of buildings. More than 40% of all heatlosses of the building are the share of light apertures. Many experts continue to argue on heat conductivity of the materials framing a translucent design, forgetting that it makes only a little more than 6% of all its area. As to keep heat in the remained nearly 94 percent of the area of a window?

Energy efficiency of a translucent design it will be insignificant it is small even at the "warmest" profile and a frame if the ineffective, low-quality double-glazed window is used. At the same time today in structure of the cost of one sq.m of a window design no more than 30% fall to its share. So, for what we pay money? For a profile and accessories? Let's try to answer these questions and to talk on a subject: What represents a modern energy saving double-glazed window?

Originally in double-glazed windows the space between glasses was filled with air or was blown by dry nitrogen before final sealing. Double-glazed windows possess heat-insulating properties thanking this layer of gas. However, at such way of filling in the pressurized space between glasses there are circulating air streams which increase convective transfer of heat between external and internal glasses, thereby reducing double-glazed window heat transfer resistance coefficient.

The energy crisis of the 70th years urged forward producers of double-glazed windows to searches of ways for elimination of these shortcomings. At that time the most rigid norms of energy saving were entered into the USA. For manufacturers of double-glazed windows in states with rezkokontinentalny climate there came hard times: they were forced to carry out strict standards and to find opportunities for improvement of the existing designs of double-glazed windows. Whether there is opportunity, without changing a double-glazed window design, to improve its heat-insulating properties? The first attempts were connected with application of polymeric films. But because of very low svetopropuskny ability of this design it was necessary to refuse this option.

For permission of this contradiction the SDI Sungard firm conducted basic researches on creation of special films which would reflect thermal (infrared) radiation, but at the same time with the minimum losses would pass visible light. The unique multilayered films created on company technology were as a result developed.

On each layer of a film thickness in several micron by method of the plasma category in the atmosphere of argon applies a superthin layer of metal. According to the developed technology precious and rare-earth metals are used. Metal layer thickness - literally several molecules therefore extent of retardation of visible light is very insignificant, and cost practically does not differ from the cost of a usual film.
