Corn (or sweet corn) - the only representative of the sort Corn relating to family of cereals (or Myatlikov). Besides cultural corn, the sort Corn includes some more wild - growing subspecies. Corn - one of the most popular foodstuff on Earth therefore its broad culinary application is unsurprising. In the industry from corn protein receive artificial fiber, use corn starch in production of medicines, viscose fiber, glue, paper and explosives, and also for finishing of fabrics and skin. From corn oil receive paints, soap and substitutes of rubber.
Stalks and leaves of corn use in production of fertilizers, papers, packing and construction materials; and from cabbage stumps receive furfural - raw materials necessary by production of nylon, plastic and other synthetic substances; "the corn hair" is used in medicine.
